A Leader Must Be Empowered Before They Empower

A LEADER MUST BE EMPOWERED BEFORE THEY EMPOWER  – Acts 2:1-4

A few weeks ago, we shared that the Lord placed a burden on our hearts to gather together with our ministry partner leaders in Africa –  modern day apostles, working tirelessly to seek and train other leaders to work along-side them, serving those in need, sharing Christ and discipling believers.

All accepted the invitation, traveled to the United States and spent a powerful week with us!  We were overjoyed at having ministry leaders from Central Sudan, Northern & Southern Kenya and Rwanda, right in Charlotte, NC.  The Lord truly did meet us at the table and united, we learned from one another, shared encouragement, challenges, discussed possible solutions and set the course for our next steps.  What a powerful experience, to build a framework with partners – exactly the way Jesus built His ministry – with help.

Our brothers in Christ truly BLESSED us and we are humbled and blessed to see their renewed energy and fire for Christ, they are ambassadors for the King and we are honored to serve them and equip them to do His work!  We are blessed to unite with them in ministry!

Among several key sessions pertaining to the growth of our ministry, a few highlights from our week included:

Pastor’s Breakfast

On Thursday morning, April 7th, we held a Pastors’ Breakfast to allow a special time for area ministry leaders and pastors to come together with our Pastors from Africa.  It was an amazing time for all those in the ministry to encourage one another in the Lord and share words of blessings.  This time together will not be easily forgotten!  Thank you to all the area Pastors and ministry leaders who were able to join us for this time of food and fellowship!

Friday Evening Reception

We hosted a special reception on Friday evening, for all who were able to join us to meet our Pastors from Africa.  The turnout was great and our Pastors enjoyed the time set aside to meet some of our wonderful partners.  We are so thankful to each one who was able to attend and to EVERYONE who supports this ministry with your prayers and financial support whether you were able to join us or not!  We could not do this without YOU partnering with us!

A FUN time around the Charlotte area!

We couldn’t let our pastor’s come to the US, without allowing them to have some fun and enjoy our beautiful Charlotte area!  We were able to bless them by taking them on a tour of the Coca-Cola Bottling plant, tour the Billy Graham Library as well as visit the Harley Davidson store and enjoy a trip to the Bass Pro Shop!!   They were amazed and delighted throughout the day at the special treatment and gifts that were presented to them.   May God return to each one that gave of their time and special gifts one hundred fold!

A time to worship!

Devoting time to pray was a key in all things we did.  Before each meeting session and throughout our time together, we praised God and prayed for one another and our ministry.   The weekend held various opportunities for our pastors to pray, share the Word and enjoy Sunday morning worship at churches in the US.  Many thanks to Central Church of God, Faith Memorial Baptist, and Progressive Missionary Baptist Church for blessing our visitors and extending the opportunity to share with your church families.  After Sunday evening worship, we gathered for a final farewell dinner.
