Mission: (mish-uh n) noun 1. An important goal or purpose that is accompanied by strong conviction; a calling or vocation. 2. A sending or being sent for some duty or purpose.
You won’t find the word “missions” in the Bible. It’s just not there. But the concept is. Mission overarches all of God’s plan, from His call to Abraham to walk by faith in Him (Genesis 12), to Jesus’ commissioning of His disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)
Our Mobile Messengers are on mission to reach the unreached and underserved people of east Africa. They are following the call of God on their lives, many in the face of great hardship. Some have recently been displaced by violence in their country. But they are undeterred. To quote one of our displaced Mobile Messenger leaders: “I do not see myself as a refugee. I am on Mission!” Over the coming weeks you’ll be seeing and hearing more of their stories of being on mission.
