The cross. The symbol of our Savior’s suffering and death. As we look forward to celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let’s be sure to take some time to pause at the cross. It’s there that He made atonement for us. The curse of God’s law was visited upon the One who knew no sin, yet bore the sins of us all. The crucifixion was the pivotal point in all of history. Its at the cross that everyone must make a decision. Whether you’re reading this post from the comfort of your favorite chair at home, or sitting in a local coffee shop with your favorite double-shot espresso, or hearing it for the very first time through the preaching of a Mobile Messenger who has come to your village. You must render a decision when confronted with the cross. To reject the cross is to reject God Himself. But acceptance of the work of Jesus on the cross is acceptance of all the fullness of God and His eternal plan to save us from the punishment due us for sin.
As we busy ourselves this holy week preparing for our celebration of the resurrection, let’s not miss the opportunity to revisit the cross. It’s the cross that makes all the difference.
“But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” ~ Galatians 6:14
